Project Management is the discipline of organizing and managing resources in such a way that these resources deliver all the work required to complete a project within the defined scope, time, and cost constraints. A Project is a temporary and one-time endeavor undertaken to create a unique product or service, that brings about beneficial change or added value.
Project Management is both an art and a science. While there are many scientific approaches to increase the success rate of projects, the tendency to overlook the "art" of project management is one reason why many projects fail. By developing expertise in the art, as well as the science, project managers, can greatly increase the success rate for their projects, and will be better able to complete projects on time, on budget, without sacrificing quality.
